Spring has Sprung !

After one of the mildest winters we've had, sring could not have come any sooner. The weather is fantastic and the road is ready. To get you primed, we are doing a free talk on an Intro to Motorcycle Touring. See the link to the right.

We also paired down the schedule a little to make more room for more private tours, but don't let that intimidate you... there are still plenty of opportunities to give motorcycle touring a shot for 2012.

As you may know, we started our company to eliminate some of the obstacles that keep riders from experiencing motorcycle camping. Most people do not have the initial equipment, or want to invest in something that they are not sure if they will like... we are here to fill that gap and create an experience that is truly unique.

Our tours are not completely inclusive, but we often provide the necessary equipment to enjoy a motorcycling / camping experience without all the hassle. On most tours, we will provide, transport and set up your tent, sleeping bag, and mattress. We'll even carry up your personal bag for the weekend. You really only need your bike and your willingness to explore something new.

In addition to the camping, we also provide a professionally executed tour with side trips to some overlooked gems in North Carolina, all for a very affordable price.

Introduction to Motorcycle Camping! This is what our company is known for, as this is one of our highlighted tours. This 3 day, 2 night tour will take riders from the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) to the foothills of North Carolina. Arrive to refreshments while your camp is being set up for you. Day two will take you on a beautiful tour of some twisty roads through the mountains of North Carolina. The highlights of Day 2 (in addition to the wonderful riding), will be two waterfalls that are slightly off the beaten path that many people do not get the chance to enjoy.

Day 3 will have us returning to the Triangle with a long run on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Additional side trips on Day 3 include Mount Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi) and / or Little Switzerland.

This tour includes your tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and a headlamp to use around camp. Additionally, we will provide you with a camp pillow that's yours to keep after the tour!.

Triangle Cycles (4503 Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, Durham, NC)

NC Touring just presented a talk entitled: Intro to Motorcycle Touring: Adventure is Outside your Garage on April 14, 2012 at 3:00pm.

The talk focused on what to take, how to pack, and options for "starter" tours from the triangle. The presentation, which was free to the public, begin at 3:00pm and refreshments were provided. Triangle Cycles also gave a discount to attendees for accessory purchases.

Following the talk, members of the Motorcycle Touring Association of NC lead a short ride to Creedmoor for dinner at El Corral Mexican Restaurant! Good attendance for both events!

The Easy Escape tours were developed to allow for a painless get-away from the work week. There is no need to take a much coveted day off in order to participate in one of our motorcycle tours. The premise is very simple: meet with your tour leader the morning of the ride and then... RIDE. Because your time is precious, we try to fill the day with great riding off the bat, and some great stops for either history, nature, or shoping options.

This 2 Day, 1 Night tour will take riders to the home of our state's first capitol: New Bern (Tryon Palace). Backroad travel and wonderful historic sites willl be seen on this quick trip east. Lodging will be in your own private cabin (we'll provide your sleeping bag and pillow).

NC Touring and the Leukemia / Lymphoma Society
Light the Night, November 5, 2011- Durham)

NC Touring once again sponsored a team of walkers for the annual Light the Night walk for the Leukemia / Lymphoma Society (LLS). We walked on November 5, 2011 in memory of Line’s father, William Linebaugh Dempsey, III. We also walked to honor our friend Kevin Penn. In addition, we also walked in memory of Ms. Jean R. Stewart and Ms. Lucille LaMarr Martin (mother and grandmother of Tour Leader, Shannon Stewart).

NC Touring set a goal of raising $600. I am happy to report that we raised $1250! More than double. Visit our team website if you are still interested in making a donation as we will continue to accept money through the end of the year!.

You Provide What ?!?

What makes us unique is introducing people to the world of camping and motorcycling with little needed by you. For the majority of our tours, we will provide, transport, and setup your camping accommodations! That's right, all you have to do is ride and then enjoy spending the night in the great outdoors.

Lunch and breakfast stops will be along the routes, and we can point you in the right direction for wonderful dining experiences. For those that truly want to rough it, you can join your Tour Leader grilling out at the campground. We always have a campfire and marshmallows!

Before you invest in multiple bags to carry gear, and the gear that goes with it, you can try it out and see if motorcycle camping if for you. We also consider ourselves "gear heads" so we can give you the latest information on what is available to motorcycle campers and where to purchase your own equipment.
